GCC Certification Marks Transition Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines the process and requirements for transitioning to the newly updated GCC certification marks. Its objective is to ensure consistency, strengthen brand integrity, and provide guidelines for GCC-certified organisations on proper usage.

Scope

This policy applies to all GCC-certified organisations currently utilising previous versions of GCC certification marks across official documents, communications, marketing materials, or any other medium. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Marketing and advertising materials (both digital and print)
  • Websites and social media platforms
  • Business communications (e.g., letterheads, email signatures)

Policy Statement

As of September 2024, GCC has officially updated its certification marks.

All certified clients are required to discontinue using previous certification marks and adopt the updated versions in all relevant materials.

Transition Period

Certified organisations are required to complete the transition to the new certification marks by November 30, 2025. The following key milestones will guide this transition:

  • Effective Date: October 29, 2024
  • Deadline for Full Compliance: November 30, 2025

Responsibilities

  • Certified Organisations: Each certified organisation is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely implementation of the new certification marks in their materials. This includes updating all affected documents and media during the transition period.
  • GCC: GCC will provide certified clients with the updated certification marks, accompanied by detailed guidelines for their proper usage.

Compliance and Enforcement

By the end of the transition period, all outdated GCC certification marks must be removed and replaced with the new versions. Continued use of the previous certification marks after November 30, 2025, will be considered non-compliant with GCC’s certification requirements. Compliance will be verified through annual GCC audits, as well as routine monitoring of certification mark usage by certified organisations.

Use of Certification Marks

Certified clients are authorised to use the new certification marks strictly in accordance with GCC’s Use of Certification Marks Guidelines. These guidelines, provided with the new certification mark files, include:

  • Restrictions on usage (e.g., no alterations, no use in misleading ways)
  • Appropriate sizing, colour schemes, and positioning
  • Conditions for use in product labelling, marketing, and business documents
